6x4 Porthmadog Slate

Minimum radius = 1st radius

This layout is set at a Welsh port, with slate wagons being moved ready for export. A dockside crane at point ‘A’ acts as the unloading point, with wagons then moving back to point ‘B’ for loading again. Setting up a scenario like this helps to give the operations a purpose, ensuring that the railway has a purpose rather than randomly pushing wagons around. Several run-round loops allow some operational flexibility, ensuring that the wagons can be pushed right to the end of the sidings for easy access. In addition, a loco shed in the top left corner provides a storage spot for those hard-working shunters.
