With a harbour scene to the left side of the board, complete with Dapol crane and hard standing, this layout is based on the dockside railways seen in all parts of the UK. Particular inspiration was taken from the complex web of tracks in Leith Docks, and the right hand side of the board can be filled with warehousing and other industrial buildings.  The accompanying aerial photo shows some of Hull docks - hidden under all that hardstanding is an old railway, with some of the tracks still evident today.
