This plan has all the hallmarks of a traditional steam-era station. A run-round loop, bay platform, and loco / goods shed in the lower left corner provide plenty of operating interest, allowing you to either run round the train and run in reverse, or exchange the loco from the incoming train for an alternative waiting in a siding. The station pilot (a small shunting engine) can be used to shunt wagons, collected from the rear of a mixed passenger and goods train.
